Max numbers of cases recommended in CODAP

Hi,

While experimenting with some datasets relatively big (8,652 cases) I’ve experienced some delays and even “sad faces” asking me to quit or to wait.

So, I was wondering if there is a “recommended number of maximum amount of cases” for a file in CODAP, asumming a Core i5 processor, 8 Gb RAM memory and SSD. I know this is also related to the type of “operations” that I want CODAP to perform but in general terms.

Hello Christián,

Generally, 5000 cases is the upper limit we use when we think about distributing CODAP documents, especially for classroom use.

Of course we are constantly working on improving performance, and would be very interested in egregious examples of slowness caused by something other than large numbers of cases.
