I was trying to figure out how to add leveled data to a data table. For example, how different animals are IDed in the Ocean Tracks data or how trials might be IDed in one of the simulations.  Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks!

I’m assuming that you would like to add data to an already existing data set. The only way to do this in CODAP at this stage is the following:

    1. Drag the attributes one at a time to the rightmost area until there is only one level.
    2. Scroll to the bottom where you will find a blank row.
    3. Enter new data in the blank row, nothing that when you press or click outside you’ll get a new blank row.
    4. Redo the structuring so that you once again have the hierarchy you want.

Of course this is not ideal! Eventually, we will make it possible to enter new data while leaving the hierarchical structure in place.

Another way is to make use of the Data Card plugin which you’ll find here. Drag the “Embeddable Link” for the Data Card plugin into your CODAP document. It will discover the data sets you already have in the document and provide an interface for adding or modifying individual cases at any level. Note: This is a prototype plugin, not highly polished!
