I have a dataset of county-level data in North Carolina.  The map is nicely colored by population at the county level.  However, when I point to one of the counties, I see “State: North Carolina, Population: <the county population>”  I would like to see these counties labeled by County, not State.  State IS the first attribute in the table, so I tried deleting it to see if I could force the label to change to the county name, but it didn’t work – the label just said “state: undefined”

Is there a way to fix this so that I get the county name rather than the state name?

    Hi Andee,

Try closing and remaking the map after having deleted the State attribute (or having moved County to be the first attribute). I think the map is not paying the attention it should to changes in the dataset like deleting or moving attributes.
