    Hello,

Given a bivariate data set (e.g. each individual is described by gender and age), is there a way to form a new data set created by scrambling the order of the values?   I am trying to perform a simulation of a nonparametric test of the independence of those variables.

    Thank you,

    David

    Hello David,

Yes, there is! See Tim Erickson’s wonderful set of CODAP plugins

Near the bottom of his page is one called Scrambler. You can drag or import the URL for this plugin into your CODAP document that has your dataset. Click on the number of times you want to do the scrambling. Voilá!

    Bill
